JHelioDB will allow the user to easily export or import data to or from the Helio Desktop v2.0 PIM (Personal Information Manager).
JHelioDB can import or export data from or to the Helio Desktop in the following file formats:
For any of the Comma-Separated-Values file, the data can be used in your favorite PIM
For LDIF formatted data, the data can be imported direcly into Netscape or any other PIM that supports LDIF data.
For Opera Contact data, the data can be copied directly to the "Contacts.Adr" file, in the directory: C:\Program Files\Opera
Note: If you already have data in your C:\Program Files\Opera\Contacts.adr file then you will need to merge the 2 files. Or copy the data to your Helio Desktop program then you can safely overwrite it. Helio PhoneBook categories are created as Opera AddressBook folders and the Phonebook entries are transferred to their respective Opera Folder.
For XML formatted data, it can be imported into any PIM that supports XML data. The DTD (ContactCardXML.dtd) for the generated XML data can be downloaded from Capitalware's web site at http://www.geocities.com/capitalware/ .
For the Eudora Nickname format, the data is formatted correctly and you just need to copy the file directly to the Eudora Nickname directory. If your eudora is located in C:\Eudora this path would normally be C:\Eudora\Nickname
Each Helio PhoneBook category is created as a separate Eudora Nickname file. The Helio PhoneBook category name is used as the Eudora Nickname file name. The entries are transferred from each Helio PhoneBook category to their respective Eudora Nickname file.
Make sure you name the file with a txt extension (i.e. Helio.txt ). Then copy it to the Eudora Nickname directory. The next time you start Eudora it will make a file called Helio.toc (based on the file Helio.txt) in the same directory.
Each time you use JHelioDB to export data in the Eudora Nickname format, make sure you delete both of the old files (i.e. Helio.txt & Helio.toc) in the directory: C:\Eudora\Nickname

I have tested JHelioDB on:
JHelioDB uses JDBC-ODBC drivers to access the Helio Desktop database. This database is just a MS Access database. Before you run JHelioDB, make sure you run SetupODBC4JHelioDB.exe (see instructions below).
I make this program available for use by people under the terms of freeware. I still retain the copyright for JHelioDB. To register JHelioDB, just send me a postcard or even easier, just email at capitalware@rogers.com
JHelioDB.zip contains 5 files:
On any of the following platforms: Windows 98/ME/NT/2000
Just run JHelioDB.bat from the current directory.
