Chapter 2 Prerequisites
Prerequisites
This section lists the required hardware and software components needed to run the MQ Visual Edit application.
The application also requires access to at least one WebSphere MQ server.
Software
The following third party software components must be installed in order to properly run MQ Visual Edit:
- Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.4 (or higher) or Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition (J2SE) v1.4 (or higher)
Hardware / OS
MQ Visual Edit is capable of running on the following hardware platforms that support Java v1.4 (or higher):
- AIX
- HP-UX
- Linux
- Mac OS X (client mode only)
- OS/2 Warp
- Sun Solaris
- Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista/7
- Windows 95/98/ME (client mode only)
