Chapter 5 Inserting a Message

Inserting a Message.

This section will describe how to insert a message into an openned queue.

If you have previously opened SYSTEM.DEFAULT.LOCAL.QUEUE, the main panel may look something like:

From the main panel of MQ Visual Edit, select Edit, then Insert Message.

The Insert Message Wizard is designed to help the user quickly create 7 different MQ message formats. i.e. None, String, RFH, RFH2 (JMS), IMS, CICS and R3/SAP.

The user can alter the contains of the MQMD. Plus if the user selects RFH, RFH2 (JMS), IMS, CICS or R3/SAP message format, the user can alter those values too.

First select the appropriate MQ message format then input your WebSphere MQ message and then click OK

The main panel is updated with the new message.
